Amazon is to create 1000 permanent roles in Ireland over the next 2 years bringing its workforce in Ireland to over 5000 surpassing Intel as iIreland<s largest employer .

The new jobs will be based in Dublin at its sites in the City Centre, Blanchardstown and Tallaght and Cork.

Amazon also announced this morning that it was investing in a new 170,000 square feet campus in Charlemont Square in Dublin.

The new campus will be home to Amazon Web Services growing cloud commuting workforce which is expected to open in 2022 .

Amazon also said that the first of its wind farm projects will come online in September .

The Esk wind farm in Cork will ne Amazons first operational renewable energy project outside the USA which will deliver clean energy to the country’s electric grid .

This announcement driven and supported by the IDA is the first major job announcement since the COVID 19 Pandemic and lockdown in March.
