Iceland opening 9 new Supermarkets creating 270 new jobs

Food retailer Iceland has announced that it is investing €12m in the Irish retail market .

It will open nine new outlets and add 277 new jobs at locations in Tallaght ,Galway,Cork ( Douglas,Fermoy,Ballincollig) Letterkenny, Limerick,Shannon and Gorey .

This will bring its total network to 21 stores nationwide and increase its staff numbers to 530.

Its new store in Tallaght is on the Greenhills Road and will open tomorrow .It will be the frozen-food specialists biggest in the country coveting 15,000sq.ft and is creating 35 jobs in the area .

The next opening will be in Galway on Tuesday the 9th May and this will be its first store in the West of Ireland and will feature an in-house bakery and coffee station.

Iceland works with 32 local Irish suppliers and returned to Ireland 5 years ago .
