Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced **HGV Driver** to join our team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations across Ireland and potentially the UK/Europe. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

– Safely operate and drive HGV vehicles (Category C or C+E) in compliance with road traffic regulations and company policies.
– Transport goods to and from specified locations, ensuring timely delivery.
– Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
– Load and unload goods securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety standards.
– Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and working hours using tachographs or digital systems.
– Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse staff.
– Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including vehicle maintenance and safe driving practices.
– Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or delays promptly.
– Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.

Requirements

– Valid **HGV Category C (Class 2)** or **C+E (Class 1)** driving license.
– Valid **CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)** card.
– Minimum of **2 years of experience** as an HGV driver.
– Clean driving record with no major violations.
– Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and driving best practices.
– Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
– Excellent time management and organizational skills.
– Good physical fitness for loading/unloading and long driving hours.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Familiarity with Irish road networks and routes is preferred.

 

Desirable Skills

– Experience with multi-drop deliveries.
– Knowledge of tachograph regulations and digital systems.
– ADR certification (for hazardous goods transportation) is a plus.
– Experience driving in the UK/Europe is an advantage.
