After a very gloomy year on the jobs front with unemployment levels at an all time high we received some good news today with the announcement by Lidl the German supermarket giant that it will be recruiting 1,200 new employees this year.

These new role are across many occupations  with store based and in administration centres and in the company Head Office in Dublin.

Lidl also plans to open y6 new stores this year along with expanding 7 stores with a 75million expansion plan for its Mullingar regional distribution base.

Lidl has seen trade grow significantly during the COVID 19 Pandemic and hired an extra700 staff in 2020 just to deal with the various Health & Safety requirements of the Pandemic .

In more good news for existing Lidl employees the company has committed to a further €2 million in a COVID Employee Bonus for all employees on the island of Ireland .This is the third COVID-19 bonus offered to its employees by Lidl this year.

Recruitment for the roles begins today and the retailer plans to fill these positions over the next 12 months .
