Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O Connor has just announced 600 new jobs at the European Headquarters of Microsoft .This announcement brings the number of new Jobs announced this week in the Tech sector to over 1000.
The 600 new roles will will bring the overall employment numbers at Microsoft to 1800 people working in its Sandyford based EMEA O pertains Centre .
Among the roles to be filled are 500 positions in the EMEA sales centre serving customers in over 30 different languages,with another 100 roles available in areas such as Finance,operations engineering and sales .
Microsof has invested billions of euro in Ireland since it first set-up operations in 1985 .The company is building a new € 134m campus in Dublin currently .
It has also spent more than € 800m on its existing data centre operations at Grange Castle in Dublin making it one of the biggest facilities of its type in Europe .
The recruitment process for these new roles begins today and many of the roles will require previous sales or technical experience,the company is also looking for graduates with 2 years experience .
Todays announcement comes on top of 500 new jobs announced by Indeed in Dublin and another 100 jobs announced by BrowerStack,along with 300 jobs in Accenture and 100 jobs in Nginx in Cork .
