As Ireland heads into a major strike by Nurses who are battling for better pay and staff development along with a new program that will assist the Irish Health department to recruit and retain nurses the battle for Nurses is fast becoming a war .
Yesterday the UK Government announced a plan to invest over 1 billion extra in the NHS over the next 4 years and include a strategy to recruit over 30,000 Nurses.
In Canada Back 4 Good -Your future in Canada have embarked on a campaign targeting Canadian Nurses living abroad and inviting them to return home to Quebec,Newfoundland and Montreal .
Meanwhile in the USA our new platform Back 4 Good – Your future in America will focus in part on the huge demand for Healthcare Professionals with Nurses top of that list.

In the Asia Pacific region which comprises of 48 countries and about 4.3 billion of the world’s population with nearly 335 million people aged above 60 requires 1000s extra nurses over the next 10 years
Yet Asian Nurses are moving to Western Countries to work instead of staying at home .
In half of the World Health Organisation’s member states, there are fewer than three nursing and midwifery personnel per 1000 people with 25% of WHO’s member countries holding a ratio at less than 1 per 1000.
In Ireland the situation is so critical that the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation are due to announce their first set of strike dates after 95% of their members agreed to strike action in December
They state that wages are not strong enough to recruit and retain Nurses or to encourage Irish Nurses overseas to return home to the profession.
If and when the Irish Government act to resolve this issue remains to be seen however there are simply not enough Nurses to look after the 1000s of patients in the Irish Health system and action is required.
Back 4 Good submitted a detailed set of proposals to Irish Government in 2017 which set out a range of measures that our Healthcare subscribers had advised us that if implemented would result in a significant number of Nurses returning home to each county, town or village in Ireland .
While we still await a response to the proposals other countries in our network have taken onboard our proposals with success .
