As you decide to return home and are planning to check the property market out this holiday season be warned .If you want to live near public transport you will have to pay a premium for the pleasure .
A new report published today has shown that properties near Dart Stations and the Luas lines are now the most expensive in the country .
The survey by Daft found that Sandymount,which has its own Dart station has the most expensive properties for commuters to buy averaging nearly €800,000.
The report says that close proximity to a Dart station drives up prices with high prices in areas such as Dalkey,Sandycove and Glasthule .
On the Luas green line ,homes close to Cowper,near Rathgar have average asking prices at € 679,000 .
On the north side of the city Howth has the most expensive asking prices at €566,000 on average with Malahide and Sutton also property hotspots .
With the imminent opening of the Luas cross-city extension there are now 125 different rail stations in the Greater Dublin area .
