During our St Patrick’s Week Talent drive we met with a significant number of potential returnees who wish to return home to their own town, city or village and establish their own business or venture and who are also considering investing in an already established firm.
These returnees are looking for advice on locations. sectors, property, finance, and other supports available to them if they set-up in Ireland. They have accumulated a solid seed capital fund by saving while they are overseas and want to be their own boss.
Of course one of their first ports of call has to be Enterprise Ireland who offer a range of services to those who wish to start-up business .
Enterprise Ireland will work with High Potential Start-up companies to assess the viability of their business ideas and to co-invest with other private investors to finance and implement their start-up and development plans .
Its important to note that Enterprise Ireland is the largest seed capital investor in Ireland and they have a dedicated Growth Capital team with in the organisation that works with the external investors ecosystem to stimulate investment activity into Irish SMEs .
The Growth Capital Team manages Enterprise Ireland’s venture fund .
At a more local level LEOs support enterprise development with a package of incentives and supports which work with pre-start -ups and small enterprises these supports include ,
. Working Capital

All major Banks offer new business accounts most of which are on offer with up to 2 years free banking and consideration of finance options is becoming a more increasing reality .
Of course if you decide to start your own business in Ireland you should set up a limited company and you will need to register with the CRO first .Once your business is incorporated you can register with Revenue and you will require a Bank Account in the name of the company.
There has never been a better time to return home to Ireland and establish a new venture with many towns and cities ready for investment and new services and products .
