Varadkar acknowledges Ireland high tax rates causing Talent to look elsewhere .
Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has acknowledged that Ireland’s very high income tax rates ” are a very serious problem ” in attracting talent into Ireland .
Speaking at the Shannon Chamber of Commerce event in County Clare the Prime Minister stated that he and his Government ” are aware of it and want to change it into the future ”
Back 4 Good has been proactively advising the Irish Government that high taxation and the lack of housing for returnees and skilled professionals are resulting in major skills shortages across all sectors including ICT,Construction and Healthcare
Last month we reported on the lack of interest the HSE received for many roles that they advertised both in Ireland and overseas with Dublin voluntary Hospitals receiving just one or no applications for approximately one in every 6 hospital consultants posts advertised in 2016 .
15 posts advertised out of 88 received one applicant or none at all with the HSE unable to fill at least one in 4 medical consultants posts advertise by the Public Appointments Service .
Back 4 Good is working with a number of large employers in the ICT,Construction and Financial Services sector and they have reported (on a daily basis )that they are losing the battle for Talent to not only competitors in other locations but in some cases to fellow branches of their own organisation in different countries.
This is making Multinationals take note of the Talent advantages of other locations.
While the ESRI have suggested that Ireland will rely on skilled migrants in increasing numbers they also point out that the rate of increase in National property prices has been rising since the second half of 2016 and this saw double digit growth rates up to May 2017.
In addition they point out that the rental market on the rise on a daily basis with rents in the second quarter of 2017 rising by 7% nationally with rents now at their pre-crsis level experienced in 2018 .
Ireland’s is lagging behind is competitors for talent across the globe with incentive packages on offer that make living and work elsewhere a better option .
The global battle for talent is taking place and innovative solutions are required to ensure that the overheating that is emerging in the Labour Market does not impact on services and on the competitive edge that Ireland has currently.
The Back 4 Good concept was devised in Ireland and is now operating in over 135 cites throughout the world bringing skilled professionals back to their own town, city and country and this strategy is unique and historic .
