Consultant Pharmacists – Multiple Opportunities
MyJobs is currently seeking experienced Consultant Pharmacists for a number of specialist opportunities within healthcare and clinical environments.
These roles offer experienced pharmacy professionals the opportunity to provide expert clinical leadership, optimise medication use and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
The Opportunity
As a Consultant Pharmacist, you will work closely with medical consultants, nursing teams, pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals, providing specialist advice on complex medication management and supporting best practice across clinical services.
You will play an important role in improving patient outcomes through medication review, clinical governance, prescribing guidance, medicines optimisation and the development of pharmacy-led services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert pharmaceutical and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams.
* Undertake complex medication reviews and medicines optimisation.
* Support safe, appropriate and cost-effective prescribing.
* Develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies, protocols and guidelines.
* Provide specialist advice on drug interactions, dosing and therapeutic monitoring.
* Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality-improvement programmes.
* Support antimicrobial stewardship and medication-safety initiatives where appropriate.
* Provide education and professional guidance to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
* Contribute to research, service development and evidence-based clinical practice.
Candidate Specification
Applicants should hold a recognised pharmacy qualification and be registered, or eligible for registration, with the relevant professional regulatory body.
Candidates should have significant post-registration experience, ideally within hospital, clinical or specialist pharmacy services. Strong knowledge of therapeutics, medicines management and clinical governance is essential.
Excellent communication, analytical and decision-making skills are required, together with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Postgraduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy, therapeutics or a relevant specialist discipline would be advantageous.
