Job Description
A number of opportunities have arisen for experienced Dry Stone Wallers to join a heritage and rural development initiative operating across the North West of Ireland. These roles will focus on the restoration, maintenance and construction of traditional dry stone walls which form an important part of Ireland’s rural landscape and agricultural infrastructure.
Dry stone walling is a traditional craft that requires precision, patience and a strong understanding of stone construction techniques. Successful candidates will work on a variety of projects including farmland boundary restoration, heritage conservation works and community landscape initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Construct and repair traditional dry stone walls to recognised heritage standards
• Select and shape stone for stability, durability and appearance
• Restore historic walls and boundary features on farms and rural properties
• Work collaboratively with landowners, conservation specialists and project teams
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards
• Maintain tools and equipment used in stone construction
Skills & Experience
• Demonstrable experience in dry stone wall construction or restoration
• Strong understanding of traditional building techniques
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Good physical fitness and attention to detail
• A passion for heritage craft and rural landscape preservation
• Full driving licence desirable
