Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering principles, project management, and design. The role involves working on a variety of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and public works. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Design
– Develop detailed designs and plans for civil engineering projects using CAD software.
– Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations.
– Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project specifications.
2. Project Management
– Oversee construction projects from inception to completion.
– Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.
– Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
3. Quality Assurance
– Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is carried out to the required standards.
– Identify and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during construction.
4. Regulatory Compliance
– Ensure all projects comply with Irish building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
– Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
5. Client Communication
– Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide regular updates on project progress.
– Address client concerns and provide solutions to any problems that arise.
6. Team Collaboration
– Work closely with other engineers, architects, and construction professionals.
– Mentor and guide junior engineers and support staff.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
– Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is desirable.
– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in Ireland.
– Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
– Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations and standards.
