Consultant Gynaecologist — Dublin

About the role
A leading Dublin hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist to join a multidisciplinary Women’s Health team delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. You will provide comprehensive gynaecological services, contribute to service development, and play a key role in teaching and clinical governance. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values evidence‑based practice, compassionate communication, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
• Deliver outpatient and inpatient gynaecology services, including diagnostics, minimally invasive procedures, and complex case management.
• Lead theatre lists and contribute to on‑call rota as required.
• Interpret investigations (imaging, laboratory, histopathology) and formulate clear management plans.
• Collaborate closely with obstetrics, oncology, fertility, urology, and primary care to ensure seamless patient pathways.
• Champion clinical governance, audit, risk management, and adherence to national guidelines.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision of NCHDs, nurses, and allied health professionals; participate in CPD and research as appropriate.
• Support service innovation, waiting‑list initiatives, and digital-first practices that enhance access and outcomes.
Qualifications & experience
• Specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• CCT/CESR (or equivalent) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and substantial post‑qualification experience.
• Proven competence in hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, colposcopy, and management of benign gynaecology; subspecialty interest (e.g., urogynaecology, minimal access surgery, reproductive medicine, or gynae oncology) is welcome.
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative, patient‑centred approach.
