Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Professional will be responsible for protecting an organisations computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard digital assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, and the ability to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities
– Monitor and analyze security alerts and events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
– Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks.
– Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
– Respond to and investigate security incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
– Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the secure design and implementation of new systems and applications.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to proactively address potential risks.
– Provide training and awareness programs to employees on cybersecurity best practices and policies.
– Manage and configure security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
– Perform regular audits of security controls and systems to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
– Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures.

 

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
– Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
– Proven experience in cybersecurity, including incident response, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
– Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
– Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
