Job Description – Anaesthesiologist (2 positions) – Cork

Back 4 Good – Your future in Cork is partnering with a leading acute hospital to appoint two experienced Anaesthesiologists to an expanding multidisciplinary team. These permanent, full‑time roles will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate anaesthesia care across elective and emergency pathways.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive pre‑operative assessments and develop individualised anaesthesia plans.
• Administer general, regional, and sedation anaesthesia for surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor patients intra‑operatively and through recovery, intervening promptly to optimise outcomes.
• Provide acute pain management and contribute to critical care support as required.
• Participate in shared on‑call rotas to ensure 24/7 service continuity.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support teaching and supervision of trainees and wider theatre staff.

Essential Requirements
• Medical degree plus completed specialist training in Anaesthesiology (or within six months of completion).
• Irish Medical Council registration (or clear eligibility to register).
• Broad exposure across adult theatres; obstetric and regional anaesthesia experience advantageous.
• Excellent clinical judgement, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and commitment to patient‑centred care.
