Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Gynaecologists to provide expert medical care in women’s reproductive health. The role involves diagnosing and treating conditions related to the female reproductive system, performing surgical procedures, and offering preventive care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centred care in line with Irish healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct routine and specialised gynaecological consultations, including pelvic examinations, cervical smears (smear tests), and STI screenings.
– Diagnose and treat conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, infertility, and gynaecological cancers.
– Perform surgical procedures (e.g., hysterectomies, laparoscopies, ERPC [Evacuation of Retained Products of Conception]) with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
– Provide antenatal and postnatal care, including high-risk pregnancy management (if obstetric duties are included).
– Prescribe medications, contraceptives, and hormone therapies tailored to patient needs.
– Collaborate with midwives, oncologists, urologists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
– Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with **Irish Medical Council (IMC)** and **Data Protection Acts**.
– Stay updated with medical advancements through **continuous professional development (CPD)**.
– Participate in **on-call rotas**, if required by the hospital/clinic.
Qualifications & Requirements
Medical degree recognised by the Irish Medical Council (IMC
Full registration with the IMC and inclusion on the **Specialist Register for Obstetrics & Gynaecology**.
-Completion of specialist training (e.g., **RCPI (Royal College of Physicians of Ireland)** or equivalent).
– Proven experience in gynaecological surgery and diagnostics.
– Strong empathy, ethical judgement, and patient communication skills.
– Familiarity with HSE guidelines HIPE coding. and Irish healthcare systems.
Desirable Skills
– Experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques (e.g., robotic-assisted surgery).
– Research/publications in gynaecology.
– Proficiency in electronic patient record (EPR) systems.
