About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Back-End Developers to join our client’s dynamic team in Dundrum, Dublin. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our web applications. Your expertise will ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end, contributing to the overall success of our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust server-side applications and APIs.
- Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
- Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Design and manage database schemas that represent and support business processes.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Back-End Developer or similar role.
- Proficiency in server-side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, or Node.js.
- Experience with frameworks like Spring, Django, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, or Express.js.
- Strong understanding of database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for seamless integration.
- Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
