Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Gastroenterologist to join our team at [Healthcare Facility Name], located in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The successful candidate will provide expert care in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders, including the management of conditions related to the stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient care, offering a diverse caseload, and the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcers, liver diseases, and pancreatic disorders.

• Perform endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, gastroscopy) to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

• Work closely with surgeons, radiologists, and oncologists for patient treatment plans.

• Provide preventive screenings and early detection initiatives for gastrointestinal cancers.

• Maintain thorough documentation of patient care and treatment plans.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

• Provide education and advice to patients on digestive health, dietary changes, and lifestyle improvements.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in gastroenterology and integrate new practices into patient care.

• Participate in hospital on-call rota, ensuring coverage for emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) and full registration with the Irish Medical Council.

• Completion of a recognized Gastroenterology fellowship.

• Extensive knowledge of gastrointestinal disorders and treatment options.

• Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Experience:

• Previous experience working as a Gastroenterologist in a hospital or clinical setting is essential.

• Experience in complex diagnostic cases and therapeutic endoscopy is preferred.
